NAGL Hiking day trip to Cold Springs, NY.

Clothing – Athletic, like you are going to the gym. No Cotton. Hiking boots preferred but sneakers will suffice.

Bring – Small backpack to Carry: Water (two liters), Snacks (bring), Lunch (bring), Bugspray, Sunscreen, Sunglasses, Hat, First Aid Kit, Top & Bottom Layers (it might be chilly), Hiking Poles (optional)

Fitness Level – Medium: You should be able to run a mile, comfortably, in less than 10 minutes. The first mile of the hike is somewhat steep.

Itinerary

8:15am: Meet @ the Grand Central Terminal Clocktower

8:15am-8:40am: Individual purchase roundtrip tickets to Cold Spring, NY on MTA North ($28)

8:43am–10:05am: Train ride to Cold Spring, NY

10:05am–10:30am: Restroom/Coffee Break /Purchase Snacks/Lunch (if needed)

10:30am-11:00am: Walk to Trailhead

11:00am – 3:00pm: Hike Mt. Taurus/Bull Hill, taking the white trail to the summit, and looping back on the blue and red trail to see the ruins and then looping down to the beach to see great foliage. The hike is approximately 5.6 miles and should take 4 hours or so, including a lunch break at the summit.

3:00pm-3:30pm: Walk back into town

3:30pm-4:20pm: Grab coffee/snacks/enjoy the town

4:20pm-5:44pm: Train back to Grand Central Terminal
